Quantum Software Engineer (Remote – USA)

An innovative technology company working at the intersection of quantum computing and artificial intelligence is seeking a Quantum Software Engineer to join its growing team. This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates based in the United States who are excited by the prospect of building next-generation software that accelerates the development of real-world quantum applications.

This role focuses on creating AI-powered tools that dramatically improve how quantum solutions are designed, analysed, and resource-estimated. Working alongside quantum scientists and customer-facing teams, you will help transform complex expert workflows into scalable, intelligent software systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AI-powered tools that accelerate quantum application development and validation.
  • Build automated resource estimation platforms capable of predicting qubit requirements, runtime, and computational complexity.
  • Develop agentic workflows that integrate large language models, machine learning techniques, quantum SDKs, simulators, and analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with quantum scientists to capture domain expertise and translate it into reusable software capabilities.
  • Work closely with customer-facing teams to understand practical requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions.
  • Benchmark, evaluate, and continuously improve AI-driven tooling against expert-generated results.
  • Contribute to software architecture, testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong Python software engineering experience, including testing, CI/CD, and modern development practices.
  • Hands-on experience building applications that leverage LLMs, AI agents, or machine learning technologies.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing concepts and an interest in quantum algorithms and resource estimation.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and agent frameworks.
  • Exposure to quantum software frameworks, compilers, or simulation platforms.
  • Background developing scientific, technical, or research-focused software products.
