Already working in quantum software? Here’s a chance to shape a package used by quantum researchers worldwide.
We are hiring for a global technology organisation’s European research centre. Its quantum software team is growing, and this is a new role. You’ll develop the team’s quantum computing software package and help grow the international open source community around it.
The role
- Develop and maintain a large C++ and Python quantum software codebase
- Work alongside quantum researchers to turn new ideas into reliable, well-built features
- Support and grow the package’s international community of users and contributors
- Champion AI-assisted development across the team
You’ll bring
- Experience in quantum computing, ideally with SDKs such as Qiskit, PennyLane or pytket
- Strong commercial C++ skills. This is essential
- Production Python experience, including CI/CD
- Open source involvement, as a maintainer or regular contributor
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted / agentic development tools
- A Computer Science, Physics or related degree, or equivalent experience
Working pattern: Mostly remote, but not a fully remote role. You’ll need to be commutable to Berkshire for team meetings, which for most of the team means every couple of months. There’s also occasional international travel.
