Quantum Chemist – Quantum Computing Research
An exciting opportunity is available for a Quantum Chemist to join a multidisciplinary research team working at the intersection of quantum chemistry and quantum computing.
The role
- Research and develop quantum chemistry methods, algorithms and applications with the aim of supporting the development of future quantum computing technologies.
- Work closely with researchers across international laboratories and external academic partners.
- Contribute to the generation of intellectual property and publication of research in leading conferences and journals.
- Collaborate across disciplines in a research environment focused on translating fundamental research into industrial innovation.
- The role can be based in the UK or Spain, with occasional international travel.
Requirements
- PhD in Quantum Chemistry, Quantum Physics or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience developing quantum chemistry methods, such as multi-reference methods, coupled cluster, configuration interaction or many-body perturbation theory, or related approaches.
- Good understanding of the fundamentals of quantum computing.
- Strong software development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with quantum algorithms or hands-on use of quantum SDKs would be advantageous, but is not essential.
