Lead the team behind quantum computers that are already running in data centres.
We are working with a fast-growing quantum computing company in central London whose systems are deployed with customers worldwide. They’re hiring a Software Manager to own the software that controls and operates those systems, and to lead the team that builds it. It’s a senior role reporting directly to the CEO.
The role
- Lead the architecture and direction of the low-level control software stack
- Take the platform to production grade for data-centre integration
- Manage and develop the software team, setting priorities and standards
- Own the software roadmap with commercial and technical teams
- Lead escalations and root-cause analysis for customer systems
- Bring in shipping-product disciplines: testing, CI/CD, release management and observability
You’ll bring
- 10+ years shipping production software, including managing engineering teams
- Deep experience with software that controls hardware: real-time, instrument control, embedded or FPGA integration
- Strong Python plus C++ and/or Rust, with solid Linux knowledge
- HPC or data-centre integration experience
- Experience supporting customers with deployed systems
Nice to have: Quantum control stacks or CUDA-Q, signal processing and timing, and backgrounds in defence, aerospace, telecoms or deep tech scale-ups.
Working pattern: On-site in central London four days a week, with 3–4 international trips a year.
